Start/Sit Data Overview
Before the start of each week during the fantasy baseball season, we release the following chart. This chart includes potential starting pitchers for all games scheduled for that week along with their ratings on a scale from 0 to 100. Our aim is to provide guidance and instill confidence—or caution—in your choices about which pitchers to play or bench.
Note that besides the standard "Start" and "Sit" categories, we have refined the previous "context-dependent" section into more detailed classifications: "Lean Sit," "Lean Start," and genuine 50/50 "Coin Flip" choices. This adjustment reflects how various leagues necessitate distinct approaches, and players who fall into the ambiguous zone of start-sit limbo might still be considered viable options depending on one’s strategy.
Additionally, we feature pitchers with strong projections for starting roles or gaining significant playing time, along with those recovering from injury lists or being promoted. Keep in mind that circumstances can change rapidly, and updates will be made promptly to ensure current data. Early in the season often involves constant shifts due to emerging injuries and managers establishing their patterns, so make sure to revisit regularly!
In the "starts" section, you'll find pitchers who should be included in your lineup for every league. Conversely, the "sits" list comprises pitchers whom you would probably bench across all leagues.
The 40-60 spectrum indicates closeness, leaving it up to you to determine according to your league’s rules or squad requirements such as wins, strikeouts, among others. Consider factors like the depth of your league, whether they use roto or points scoring systems, and other relevant criteria when making your decision.
