Debt Devastation: RHOA's Angela Oakley Faces $215K Lawsuit as Her Real Estate Dreams Collapse

“ Real Housewives of Atlanta Newcomer Angela Oakley finds herself overwhelmed with debt as she strives to become a prominent figure in Georgia's real estate market. Married to former NBA player Charles Oakley, she made her debut on the show during season 16. During episode 10, broadcasted on May 11, she disclosed, "I owe $2 million." However, her monetary issues extend further than what viewers were aware of; a lawsuit filed in February exposes additional complications involving financial disputes.

Angela, who is 44 years old, had mentioned before that she turned herself into a self-made millionaire through purchasing and reselling properties. Nonetheless, fortune hasn’t favored her recently in the real estate market. "These houses have put me in quite a predicament," she stated about her five owned properties, including three currently listed for sale between $800,000 and $3 million.

Many of them are prepared for the market; however, the pricing strategy has not garnered much interest from potential buyers since none have been sold," confessed the woman from Harvey, Illinois. Additionally, she disclosed, "I urgently want to sell these properties.

Nevertheless, difficulty in selling the properties only hints at her financial struggles. The Atlanta Black Star acquired a document filed on February 18 with the State Court of Fulton County, which names both individuals’ real estate ventures and Angela as defendants for breaching a contract related to an outstanding loan agreement. They have been husband and wife since 2016.

The "RHOA" cast members are delinquent due to unpaid charges amounting to $214,975, which includes a $10,000 late fee. The Oakley family was required to settle this substantial debt within ten days after receiving the legal notice.

The lawsuit filed by Plaintiff Pelican Solutions LLC asserts that both The Oakley Agency LLC, which has Charles, Samuel & Jean Consulting LLC as its registered agent with Angela serving as their appointed representative, along with the newcomer from reality TV, "promised to uphold the commitments made by Defendant Agency and Defendant Consulting through a document titled 'Personal Guaranty of Payment' signed on March 13, 2024."

She was supposed to make installment payments throughout the duration of the contract, along with a large sum payment upon reaching the maturity date of the note on April 13, 2024. Not adhering to this arrangement could lead to consequences.

A ruling against the defendants, collectively and individually, for reimbursement of actual attorney’s fees incurred," along with "a judgment against the defendants, collectively and individually, in the main sum of $204,975 plus an additional late fee of $10,000... tax all expenses onto the defendants, collectively and individually, and grant any further relief that is equitable and fitting.

The recently refurbished house spans 7,093 square feet and is located at 4 Bentley Trace Mnr. This property boasts six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a grand double-door entryway, hardwood flooring throughout, a secluded deck, a two-car garage, and additional features all set on an expansive one-acre plot. Listed on Zillow as of May 12, this residence became available roughly a year following the expiration of the mortgage term according to Pelican Solutions LLC records. The asking price for this home stands at $2,160,000.
